Life As A Half Goddess- Prologue

Every story has a beginning and this one starts with a question. The question may seem like a simple one, but it’s not. The question is, “who am I?”, not in the general way meaning who you think you are but the question is about me, the narrator of this story.
I don’t have a name and I don’t belong anywhere. I am a beautiful girl but I’m a deadly animal. I am a goddess yet I’m mortal. The easiest way to answer the question is a short story about a girl even more dangerous and beautiful than me. Her name changed as centuries went by but the meaning of it was always the same Nature.  Her race of gods was the oldest and was worshiped by people of the Stone Age. Nature was the most loving and beautiful of all goddesses. She had cat eyes and golden hair that that fell all the way down to her feet. She was the human’s favourite god and they worshiped her more than the powerful king of gods. She was a ruler of nature as her name suggests and she cared about everything that was alive. She had the power to bring to life but also to kill. Then only way to kill her was by stabbing her in the heart with a magical dagger but except from that she was immortal. She grew plants for the people and provided them with animals. She cared about everyone and was mostly always happy except when she had o kill. Nowadays she’d be called mother nature and being her didn’t only mean good things but in order to keep the world synchronised she had to also bring death as well as life. Yet she loved her powers and used them as well she could. Nature was also one of the few gods that came down from the heavens to the people. Usually she’d come down in a dress made of leaves and flowers, with her blond hair tied in a plat. Bare footed she walked into the village and help them. But as people became smarter and build civilizations they forgot about the old ways. They believed in new, fake gods and stopped caring about nature. It made the gods angry and most of them never helped people again. Nature was very depressed but tried to keep some nature and pure life in the world. It was a very hard job since people started polluting the earth and killing the forests in it. Of course she never came down in her human form but in the shape of a small brown bird or invisible mist. She hid in the shadows until one day she saw a man. He had coal black hair and ocean blue eyes. He was a ranger with a pure heart; he also loved nature as much as Nature herself. His name was John and he was an extraordinary ordinary human. Nature fell in love with him and came down to earth first as a deer and later as a girl she really was. They loved each other and met in the forest everyday for a few months. One sunny summer day John brought Nature over to a clearing and gave her a rose with a ring on it. Nature accepted the proposal and they got married in a small chapel. Nature knew the other Gods would not be happy with her so the couple kept moving from town to town and lived in small huts in forests, hiding.
After a few years of running, hiding and loving Nature became pregnant and wasn’t able to move any more.  When the girl was born her parents loved her a lot. She had black hair and clever green eyes. Like her parents she loved nature.  They lived together peacefully until the little girl was 3 months. At that time the Gods found their location and attacked. The man knew nothing about his wife’s magic until the other Gods came down. Luckily Nature hid her daughter before they came for her. The girl was very little but not stupid. She knew she had to be quite and all she could do was listen to the screaming above her as she sat in the basement. Her mother fought bravely but unfortunately her killing powers didn’t work on other gods. She managed to take down some minor gods but then the powerful ones came and killed her husband. Nature’s heart broke and she stopped  fighting and let the gods put her out of her misery. After hours of screaming and fighting everything went quite and the baby started crying because she understood she became an orphan. When a family of foxes came to take her out she saw her beautiful mother lying on the ground covered in blood drained of her power , her golden hair covering her face. The stupid human’s blamed her parent’s death on an animal attack and killed a family of wolfs. The little girl grew up with animals and when she was 3 her powers started manifesting. She could turn into any animal and understood their speech. She also had a special connection with nature and helped plants grow. But unlike her mother she couldn’t bring back to life or kill and of course she wasn’t immortal because of the human blood in her veins. She grew up to be a beautiful, pale  girl with long, shiny black her. She lived happily in the forest with her family of animals. She never forgot the scene in the hut when her parents died. She grew up hating all gods and all she wanted was revenge.
I am the little girl and I miss my mother and father terribly but I learned how to live without them and take care of myself. Everything would of been perfect if the hunters didn’t come

I think this is the most emotional piece of writing I ever wrote and I hope I will write more soon, I decided to have to stories so people can pick which one they like more. By the way I'm reading "The Golem's Eye".
